Born 1968 in Kerala, Aji VN has a BFA from the College of Fine Arts in Trivandrum and an MFA from the College of Art in Delhi. In 2001/2 he received a Werkbeurs grant from the Foundation for Visual Arts in The Netherlands, which was followed by a Basisstipendium. The artist has had solo exhibitions at Galerie Mirchandani + Steinruecke in Mumbai in 2007 and at the Foundation for Indian Artists Gallery in Amsterdam in 2000, 1997 and 1995. Group exhibitions include Drawing Typologies, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, 2007, The Artist Lives and Works, Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin, 2005, and The Sacrifice – an intimate I from Henri Swagemakers’ collection at Museum de Beyerd, Breda, The Netherlands, 2004. The artist lives in Rotterdam.
