Jyothi Basu was born in Kerala in 1960.
He has a BFA in Painting from the College of Fine Arts, Trivandrum and a Post Diploma in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S. University, Baroda. Solo exhibitions include Visionary Antiquities at Nature Morte, New Delhi, 2006, Landscapes towards a Supreme Fiction, Thomas Erben Gallery, New York, 2006, and Healing Properties: VN Jyothi Basu’s Landscapes of the Self at Artists’ Center, Mumbai, 2003.
